What does Reading Pacer help me practise?
It helps you adjust reading speed without losing comprehension. A useful pace is the fastest speed at which you can still explain and remember the passage accurately.
Can I use my own passage?
Yes. Open Edit, replace the sample with your text, and select Save. The passage must contain at least five words before it can be saved.
How do I choose a reading speed?
Begin at a comfortable speed. Increase it gradually only when you can follow the main idea and important details; lower it again if your comprehension falls.
What happens when I start reading?
The passage is paced one word at a time at your selected WPM. You can pause, resume, or restart the exercise whenever you need to.
Does the tool save or upload my passage?
No. Your custom passage stays in the current browser session and is not saved or uploaded by Reading Pacer.
What is the comprehension check?
It is a short set of multiple-choice questions about the passage. Move between questions and check each answer separately after reading.
